Participation in the 39th Baugrundtagung in Leipzig

The Chair was represented at the 39th Baugrundtagung in Leipzig by several members of staff and numerous students. The conference provided an opportunity for professional exchange between academia and industry, as well as for the presentation of the latest research findings.

On 23 September, the Young Engineers’ Forum took place, at which young engineers were able to present papers on research and industry topics. Natascha Kallerhoff presented her work on behalf of our Chair.

On 24 and 25 September, specialist presentations and a trade exhibition rounded off the conference programme. Numerous companies from the geotechnical engineering and specialised civil engineering sectors showcased their work at exhibition stands. The department was also represented with two posters:

• Polymer-modified soils – Ricarda Sellinghoff, Natascha Kallerhoff, Wiebke Baille and Torsten Wichtmann
• Simplified and automatic calibration of advanced material models – Joana Bombe, Lucian Canales-Brenlla, Merita Tafili, Jan Machaček, Patrick Staubach and Torsten Wichtmann

Joana Bombe presented her poster on Friday morning in a two-minute pitch.

The students’ participation was financially supported by the Chair’s Friends’ Association and the Junge DGGT.
