Neues Paper: "Numerical inspection of Miner’s rule and drained cyclic preloading effects on fine-grained soils" in "Computers and Geotechnics"

In a recent paper we present an investigation of the behaviour of fine-grained soils subjected to cyclic loading with varying amplitude.

Realistic loading scenarios of for example offshore foundations with varying amplitude are simplified in FE simulations by replacing them with cycle packages with constant amplitude. Does that hold in reality for fine-grained soils? Do our constitutive models reproduce the behaviour of the lab? In the framework of a DFG Project (German Research Council) and in cooperation with the Charles University, Prague; Universidad de la Costa, Barranquilla and the Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice we have inspected these issues experimentally and numerically. A paper showing the respective results has now been published in "Computers and Geotechnics".
