Neues Paper: "On the influence of cyclic preloadings on the liquefaction resistance of sands: A numerical study" in "Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering"

In a recent paper we present an investigation on the influence of cyclic preloadings on the liquefaction resistance of sands.

Soil deposits may be subjected to preloading episodes due to various factors, including previous earthquakes, excavations, refilling, compaction, construction of overlying structures, storms under onshore/offshore conditions, and many others. It is well-known that preloading episodes have a significant impact on the subsequent soil mechanical behavior and liquefaction resistance. However, can constitutive models accurately replicate this experimental evidence? In the framework of a DFG Project (German Research Foundation) and in cooperation with the Charles University, Prague; Universidad de la Costa, Barranquilla we have inspected these topics.
